Achieving the incredible… Nothing is Impossible!

Compassion In Action

The Narrow Path

Statue_St_Pedro

Acts 19:8

He entered the synagogue, and for three months debated boldly with persuasive arguments about the kingdom of God.

Paul understood that following Christ was about taking part in the building of the kingdom of God…right here…right now. But trying to “argue” someone into believing that will probably not be very fruitful. Arguments usually result in counter-arguments and resistance. From the very beginning…the followers of Jesus were already making Christianity into a left-brained, intellectual argument. In many ways we are still arguing over words and their meanings when it comes to religion. Funny…but Jesus never seemed to get into arguments with people over doctrines and dogmas. As far as we can gather from the gospels, Jesus spent His time living-out the Good News…extending love, mercy, forgiveness and compassion to all people…never seeming to care what their beliefs were. (The only people Jesus argued with…

Listen to Your Heart

Acts 20:22

But now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem. What will happen to me there I do not know.

Have you ever experienced a strong inner yearning that compelled you to carry out some mission or action of good will? The more you pray (as in listening in sacred silence and surrendering yourself to God’s Presence) the more I believe you will experience the Presence of God. Inner inclinations to take steps in new directions will begin to emerge. The same Holy Spirit who compelled St. Paul to preach “the gospel of God’s grace” (Acts 20:24) is ready to stir-up in you a desire to do the same…but in a unique way that fits your gifts, talents and situation. St. Paul was only able to tell people about the unconditional love and compassion of God because he himself experienced it. It came when he was…

The Last Wishes of Alexander the Great….

On his death bed, Alexander summoned his army generals and
told them his three ultimate wishes:
1. The best doctors should carry his coffin …
2. The wealth he has accumulated (money, gold, precious
stones) should be scattered along the procession to the
cemetery …
3. His hands should be let loose, so they hang outside the
coffin for all to see !!
One of his generals who was surprised by these unusual
requests asked Alexander to explain .
Here is what Alexander the Great had to say :
1. “I want the best doctors to carry my coffin to demonstrate
that in the face of death , even the best doctors in the world
have no power to heal ..”
2. “I want the road to be covered with my treasure so that
everybody sees that material wealth acquired on earth , will
stay on earth..”
3. I want my hands to swing in the wind, so that people
understand that we come to this world empty handed and we
leave this world empty handed after the most precious
treasure of all is exhausted, and that is : TIME.
We do not take to our grave any material wealth. TIME is our
most precious treasure because it is LIMITED. We can produce
more wealth, but we cannot produce more time.
When we give someone our time, we actually give a portion of
our life that we will never take back . Our time is our life !. Let
us use our time to share SALVATION in CHRIST JESUS.
The best present that you can give to your family and friends
is your TIME to talk about SALVATION. Let them know that
JESUS will come to judge humanity according to what we do
during our stay on earth. HEAVEN is real and hell is real.
Choose HEAVEN.

Life is a dash!

A family gathers at the grave of their loved departed.
The epitaph reads “Gone too soon!”
On the tombstone is engraved two dates with a dash in between
1941-2013 In between when he was born and died lies a dash!
Life is that dash!
All the twists, turns, highs and lows, aptly captured as a dash!
Where are you coming from, and where are you dashing to?
In your dash, who have you touched, and who has touched you?

Life is a Puzzle!

The 50 year old frustrated university professor, got the decision to become a lecturer from an 18yr old boy.
The 60 year old successful lawyer took counsel from a 17 year old to become!
The meritorious 65 year old nurse got guidance from a 14 year old.
Seems a puzzle doesn’t it? That little people run the world.
Well, the decision to become, was made when they were boys and girls.
They took counsel from themselves, when they couldn’t even have known.
Life is a puzzle, unclear from the start, unravels as your progress!
How are you decoding the big questions of life?
Are you bold enough to ask for help? Or would you rather keep fiddling?

Life is a vapour

The liquid is hot and boiling
The liquid is turning to vapor and leaving
The kettle whistles, the pot cover shakes, engines combust, cars move.
You hear it’s noise and feel it’s heat, but neither see nor hold
You can however by it’s effects trace it’s paths
The pressures of daily living give life it’s expressions
The vapor transcends it’s container!
Life – one moment here, another moment gone!
You can’t tie the day with a rope to hold it down!
I will do it later, can be as close as 1 min, or as far as 50 years.
What effect is your life having? What is your vapor moving?
Our best messages are acted, not preached!

Be Free

The Narrow Path

John 13:21
Jesus was deeply troubled and testified, “Amen, amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”

Before we look down on Judas and lay the blame on him…let us remember that we are all Judas. We have all turned our backs on Jesus and His teachings over and over and over again. Thankfully, God is an unconditional lover. Jesus told His followers to forgive…always. Take a moment and contemplate the forgiveness you’ve been given so freely. Now ask yourself, “Who needs the same kind of forgiveness from me?” Could it be that besides someone else…I need to forgive myself?  Invite Jesus…the suffering servant and unconditional lover of all…into your heart. Receive forgiveness. It’s that easy…and it’s totally free!

Listen

The Narrow Path

Matthew 6:7-8
“In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

Just before today’s scripture verse…Jesus told His followers to go to their “inner room” and pray to God “in secret.” He further emphasizes His point by telling them “do not babble” with many words. God already knows what we need. The question is…do we? We all want things but only God knows what we truly need. Jesus goes on to tell His followers to pray to God that “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.” God wants the best for us now…right here on earth. It’s not a waiting game for a big pay-off or reward in the future. God wants to…

Let Go of Ego

The Narrow Path

Luke 6:36-37
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.”

Jesus tells us that there is a kind of divine “what goes around comes around.” It’s a sacred pattern sewn into the fabric of life. A good act has eternal reverberations which will return to you. We are called to mirror that mercy to the world…to love and forgive instead of judging and condemning. First you must experience God’s unconditional love for you. At His baptism Jesus heard God’s voice proclaiming Him His “beloved son.” Each of us is God’s “beloved.” We are to mirror God’s unconditional love and mercy since after all…we are made in God’s image. God is totally merciful…loving even when love is not returned. This is impossible as long…
